Acid gases can be a major problem in industry.

Dry Sorbent Injection Systems

Dry sorbent injection (DSI) systems have been in service for more than 20 years as an effective tool to reduce acid gas levels. Most recently, this technology has been applied to utility, industrial and waste-to-energy applications to mitigate acid gases such as HCl, HF, SO2 and SO3.
We can offer some expertise in the design and development of injection technology and lance design for optimum reagent and gas mixing. Reagent selection is based on the specific application, unit operating conditions, reagent economics and the pollutants to be controlled.
The material storage, handling and transport system can be designed to handle multiple reagents to offer optimum flexibility. In addition, each application will vary depending on the pollutants to be controlled, available residence time and the type of particulate collection device in place.

Spray Dryer Absorbers (SDA)

Spray Dryer Absorbing (SDA) scrubbing process reduces SO2, SO3, HCl and HF acid gases by the injection of alkali based slurries, most commonly calcium-based, lime slurry.
The reagent slurry absorbs and neutralises the acid gases as the liquid evaporates through the scrubber vessel. The reacted products are removed at the bottom of the spray dryer vessel and from the fabric filter, as a dry dust, easy to handle and dispose of, eliminating the need for any water treatment system.
Unlike “wet” systems, there is no liquid waste stream generated.
The SDA system can often be retrofitted into existing quench towers, or we may supply the complete system, including the optimally designed spray dryer vessel, which then can be optimally designed for most efficient operation.
