Metex Expanded Metal is a very versatile product offering a wide range of materials and mesh sizes for manufacturers to use in their products and industries.

Manufactured by us in NZ using mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel, pre-galv and galv sheets and a range of other special materials are available on request as a special manufacture.

Types of Metex

 
Metex is available ex stock from many metals merchants in a range of diamond sizes and materials.

Special sizes and materials can be manufactured to order, minimum quantities apply.

The raw material is slit and stretched by the machine in one movement so there are no punched out components, therefore there is no waste using expanded metal.

The material is available as raised mesh or semi-flattened mesh. Use raised mesh for strength, flattened mesh for flexibility.

Mild Steel

Suitable for security screens, machinery guarding, decorative panels, benches, gratings, non-slip surfaces, reinforcing,  racks and many other uses.

LWD x SWD 10 x 6 to 50 x 24
Thickness - 0.8mm to 3.0mm
Strand width – 1.2mm to 4.3mm

 

Aluminium

Suitable for architectural features, grilles, racks, non-slip surfaces, animal cages, privacy screens and many other applications.

Thickness - 0.7mm to 3.0mm
Strand width – 0.8mm to 4.3mm

Stainless Steel

Used in all the above applications and for many more uses where corrosion resistant materials are required.

LWD x SWD 30 x 12 and 40 x 18
Thickness – 1.2mm
Strand width – 1.6mm to 2.0mm

Pre-Galv

Pre-galv sheets can be used where surface protection is required. For more arduous applications consider using fully galvanised or stainless steel metex.

LWD x SWD 30 x 12 and 40 x 18
Thickness – 1.2mm & 1.6mm
Strand width – 2.2mm and 3.0mm
 

AliPac

Conveniently sized for small projects.

Thickness – 0.7mm to 1.2mm
Strand width – 0.8mm and 2.2mm
