Thermal Modification Kilns (TMK)With increasing consumer preference for reduced chemical usage, the thermal modification process offers environmental benefits as well as a more stable product. |
What do they do?Our Thermal Modification Kilns (TMK) are specifically designed to modify the molecular structure of softwood and hardwood timber, making it more resistant to insect and fungal attack. Thermal modification operates at high temperature and humidity levels. The process changes the colour of timber, making it darker, and less prone to shrinking and/or swelling. |
